Top Young NBA Stars 26 and Under

The LeBron James era, the Steph Curry era, the Kevin Durant era is coming to a close. It begs the question “who’s next?” The top young NBA stars 26 and under

There are many players that come to mind. We are starting with the top 5 players who are 26 years old and younger.

5. Victor Wembanyama

Victor is expected to be the next anomaly in the sport. LeBron James has been that for since he entered the league in 2003. A guy with amazing talent, skill, and physical ability. We will go as far to say a created player.

What makes him special is that his size makes him unguardable. Victor can shoot the three point shot, dominate on close to the rim, and clean up on defense. He’s able to cover the entire inside range of the court.

4. Ja Morant

The next Derek Rose and the most electrifying guard in the league. He plays the game with a natural aggression that can’t be held back win he is on. Morant connects to most young NBA fans in many ways. His game is fun and inspiring. He’s what Stephan A. Smith would call “Box Office.”

Like Wemby, Ja Morant is un-guardable for most guards in the league. He’s fast off the dribble and can dunk on you at any time. Truly a force on the court.

3. Anthony Edwards

Edwards has the charisma to be the next face of the NBA. While being on a team that featured other stars, Edwards stands out. Physically, Edwards plays strong and fast. Mentally, Anthony Edwards plays that game as well as anyone. Like Jordan or Kobe, Edwards is on the same level. He’s only 23 and still developing. The potential for Edwards is as high as any superstar to lace up the shoes on an NBA court.

2. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

The 2024 NBA MVP runner up is currently leading the 1st place Oklahoma City Thunder in the West. As his team has developed, SGA has elevated his play as well.

SGA has a complete game at just 26. What makes Shai so tough to stop is his quick shot. He’s accurate from deep but even more so from mid range. His toughness and complete understanding of the game makes him difficult to beat.

1. Luka Doncic

Luka is only 25 but has a career like a 10-year vet. Luka started playing professionally at 16 years old for Real Madrid. He signed a professional contract at 13 but didn’t see any action until three years later.

His accomplishments include EuroLeague MVP. He is also a EuroLeague Champion and EuroLeague Final Four MVP. Additionally, he has been an NBA All-Star, NBA Rookie of the Year, and NBA Scoring Champion. Furthermore, he was the Western Conference Finals MVP and made a NBA Finals Appearance. Luka has been busy.

The era of LeBron James, Steph Curry, and Kevin Durant is coming to a close. The NBA is in great hands with its rising superstars. Players like Victor Wembanyama, Ja Morant, Anthony Edwards, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Luka Dončić each bring unique skills. Their star power and leadership will shape the future of the league.

Wembanyama’s once-in-a-generation size and skill are remarkable. Morant’s athleticism is electrifying. Edwards shows both charisma and killer instinct. SGA’s dominance is all-around, and Luka possesses generational talent. These young stars are ready to take the torch. The next era of the NBA is already here. It’s just a matter of determining who will emerge as the true face of the league.
