Last week we focused on the rookie standouts from Florida’s NFL teams. This week we’re focused on the notable standouts regardless of years played in the league.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Week 2 Standouts
Teddy Bridgewater, Quaterback
Teddy Bridgewater did not play in week 1 due to the fact he had just arrived to the team. Bridgewater in week 2 was lights out. The touch he had on the ball and the way he moved the offense reminded us how great he was. He threw 2 touchdowns and zero interceptions.
The Bucs will face a tough decision about the backup quarterback position. This will happen if Bridgewater keeps performing this well.
Miami Dolphins Week 2 Standouts
Ollie Gordon, Running Back
The rookie out of Oklahoma State looked good once again this week. The Miami Dolphins offense is very fast paced. Running back like Ollie Gordon opens up so many opportunities for this offense to be more explosive.
Mike McDaniel will have a field day against defensive with Gordon as a key addition to the Dolphins run game. Gordon rushed for 50 yards on 10 carries.
Jacksonville Jaguars Week 2 Standouts
Trevor Lawrence, Quarterback
The veteran quarterback out of Clemson performed well in his limited time out in Week 2. Lawrence was 8/10 for 76 yards and 1 touchdown. It was spectacular, but he was effective running the new offense.
Lawrence is on his third head coach entering his 5th season in the NFL. With a new rookie head coach, we can only wait and see if this union will bear any fruit.
Cam Little, Kicker
Last week Cam Little hit a 70-yard field goal, this week he hit a 53-yard field goal. He is currently 5 for 5 in the preseason. Kickers typically get overlooked for being consistent. In games, long field goals can mean the difference between making the playoffs or going home. Therefore, Little’s consistency will be significant this season.
