One of the most talented players in high school football over the past three years has made his next move. Jacksonville, Florida, standout Brycen Wright has elected to reclassify and join the Miami Hurricanes.
Wright made a name for himself at Mandarin High School, where he consistently dominated the competition. The Mustangs have developed several notable football talents over the years, including Chris Carter, a standout cornerback at Florida State in the early 2000s; Carson Beck, who starred at Georgia before joining Miami; and Jamie Ffrench, the No. 2 wide receiver in the 2025 recruiting class, who currently plays for Michigan.
Wright’s decision to reclassify gives Miami another major addition to its recruiting pipeline, pushing the Hurricanes’ 2027 recruiting class to No. 1 nationally. He joins an impressive group of incoming talent that includes Nick [LAST NAME], a standout from Carol City High School.
During his career at Mandarin, Wright accumulated some impressive numbers:
- 2,592 receiving yards
- 29 receiving touchdowns
- 7 interceptions
- 2 fumble recoveries
- 8 punt returns
- 3 kickoff returns
With Florida and Texas also reportedly in consideration, Miami ultimately won the sweepstakes for one of Jacksonville’s premier high school football talents. Wright’s arrival adds another dynamic playmaker to an already impressive Hurricanes recruiting class.
