There will be no surprises come late April if the Jacksonville Jaguars are drafting late in the 1st round. Our latest 2024 NFL Mock Draft has the Jaguars with the 28th pick and going with the defense.
In 2023, the Jaguars spent their first three picks on offense. Granted, each pick was a need but also a surprise when the Jaguars could have used secondary help. The Jaguars could use an effective edge rusher and a cornerback or two.
In a league where an explosive offense is needed in order to go far in the playoffs, the Jaguars could use a secondary that can make quarterbacks think twice.
And the pick is in:
With the 28th pick in 2024 NFL Draft the Jacksonville Jaguars select Kamren Kinchens, safety out of Miami. Kinchens would fill the void that the Jaguars have in the secondary that has no true playmakers.
Again, quarterbacks in the NFL are not terrified of throwing the ball against the Jags. Kinchens currently has 5 interceptions this season and 11 for his career. At 6’0, Kinchens brings an element to football that has been missing for years. A ballhawking safety that can play sideline to sideline.
Even more impressive is the fact that Kinchens is a sure tackler as well. Overall, Jacksonville would get a well rounded safety late in the 1st round.
